While our safari packages cover most essentials, there are a few items not included in the base price. These are typically personal expenses, optional activities, or services that vary depending on your preferences. We’re happy to assist with arranging any of these at your request.
Upon arrival at Nairobi’s Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, you’ll be greeted by our friendly representative. We recommend booking a flight that arrives in the morning; otherwise, an overnight stay in Nairobi can be arranged at an extra cost. You’ll then transfer by road to the Masai Mara, a journey of approximately 5-6 hours that offers a scenic view of Kenya’s countryside. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to the charming Mara Sopa Lodge. After check-in and a delightful lunch with panoramic views of the Mara, you’ll embark on your first thrilling game drive. This afternoon, you’ll have the chance to spot the Big Five: lions, elephants, buffaloes, leopards, and rhinos. As the sun sets, return to the lodge for a sumptuous dinner and unwind by the campfire, sharing stories of your day’s adventures.
Day two starts with an early wake-up call for a full day of exploration in the Mara Triangle, renowned for offering the best wildlife viewing opportunities within the Masai Mara National Reserve. After a hearty breakfast, you’ll set out for a full-day game drive with a picnic lunch packed. The Mara Triangle is known for its high concentration of wildlife, including the Big Five, and its stunning landscapes. As you traverse this beautiful region, your knowledgeable guide will provide insights into the behaviors and habitats of the animals you encounter. Enjoy your picnic lunch amidst the wild, surrounded by the breathtaking scenery of the Mara. This full-day adventure offers ample opportunities to witness dramatic wildlife interactions and take incredible photographs. As the day winds down, you will return to Mara Sopa Lodge in the late afternoon. Enjoy a delightful dinner and perhaps share your day’s experiences by the campfire, soaking in the ambiance of the African night.
On your final day, rise early for a last game drive to catch any wildlife you might have missed and leave the park before 10.00 am.
If you choose to do the hot air balloon safari, you’ll depart very early in the morning for this extraordinary experience. After landing, you’ll be treated to a complimentary bush breakfast, adding a touch of luxury to your adventure. Following this, or after your morning game drive, return to the lodge for a hearty farewell breakfast. You also have the option to visit a Masai village for $30 per adult to learn about the Maasai culture and way of life. After breakfast, you will have an en-route game drive as you leave the park, giving you one last chance to soak in the beauty of the Mara. Pack up and prepare for departure, transferring by road back to Nairobi, a 5-6 hour journey. Remember to consider this travel time when booking your departure flight from Nairobi.
